Questions people ask

What should an estimate include?

Your details, the customer's details, a description of the work, itemised costs, tax, the total, and how long the figures are valid.

Can a customer be held to a quote?

Usually a quote is an offer, and rules about what that means vary. Put the price, the scope and the valid-until date in writing.

Do I need a work order?

It isn't always required, but it keeps the job details, parts and sign-off in one place.
